We are delighted to announce our Fall 2009 Fund Drive. We are most grateful to you who support the institute and have helped bring us to the place we are today. This year, we need your help to expand our activities. Of course as a nonprofit, we depend on public support to function. Tuition and book sales alone are not enough. Steady donations keep our classes going and all of the institute’s functions, as well as allow us to offer our programs at very affordable fees.
In addition this year, we are presenting a vision, the future of where Spiritual Arts Institute is going. It’s our goal to have our own Spiritual Arts Center/Retreat-a sanctuary for spiritual light workers. This will be a place to conduct physical/Internet classes, workshops, retreats, consultations, guest lectures, and much more. It’s our aim to build this community center in the next five years. We will have more information about the Spiritual Arts Vision Plan on our website very soon.
As part of our expansion, we’re delighted to announce that Penguin/Tarcher, one of the most respected names in publishing, will release the new Reincarnation & Karma book in Fall 2010. It’s your support of our 2008 Fund Drive that helped make this happen. All of the proceeds from the book will go to the institute. With Penguin’s wide distribution, we will reach a much greater audience which will greatly expand the awareness of the spiritual work we do.
As part of our fundraiser, we are setting up a scholarship fund so financial concerns do not impede students taking classes. This scholarship will be in place for our next cycle of new classes which include the foundation course Change Your Aura, Change Your Life that begins February 10, 2010. This foundation program teaches you how to work with spiritual energy and is the key to all the training offered through the institute. We have daytime as well as evening classes.
In addition to financial support, we are calling for those who wish to donate time and/or services. There is much work that lies ahead. The demand for quality metaphysical training is only going to increase and it will require the efforts of us all to succeed in serving our collective part in the divine plan.

Join us in an exciting Fall line up of classes and events. Starting September 6, we will be in Japan! Natural Spirit Publisher has invited Barbara and Dimitri to lecture in Tokyo in preparation for the Japanese release of The Healing Power of Your Aura. September 26, we are returning to Columbus, Ohio for an exciting workshop Reincarnation & Karma. Discover how you can effectively resolve karmic issues and accelerate your spiritual development. Our thanks go to Trisha and Tom Kelly at the Soul of Yoga for hosting a wonderful reincarnation event in Encinitas in August.
We will continue this issue’s theme The Coming Spiritual Renaissance at the Bodhi Tree in Los Angeles, Sunday, October 4 at 3:00pm. We are also offering this workshop in our next teleclass, Monday, October 5 at 6:30 pm PST. Both events are free and we encourage you to invite your friends. This August, we had our first meeting with the new Spiritual Arts Institute board which now includes A.J. Le Shay, Patricia Bowman, Mark Hafeman, John Harrison, Melinda Noble as well as Barbara and Dimitri. Our first meeting was dynamic and constructive and we are laying down the groundwork for future activities of the institute. We will be calling on you to contribute your ideas and support to help Spiritual Arts Institute reach its mission to outreach the spiritual work to as many people as we can.

This winter has marked the fulfillment of one of the primary goals of Spiritual Arts Institute – to establish its comprehensive teaching program. It has been the philosophy of the institute that quality spiritual instruction takes time. While you can become inspired and motivated with a weekend workshop, to see real long-term change in your spiritual development takes sustained effort. With the establishment of the Teacher Training Program, the full range of spiritual instruction is now available. Whether you are looking to make strong personal/spiritual improvement, to become a spiritual healer, or wishing to make metaphysics a career, these opportunities await you here at the institute.
Through these challenging times, the institute has held a steady course. Our student enrollment and book sales have remained strong and in some cases increased. This reflects the commitment and quality of those taking the courses as well as the enduring quality of the teachings themselves. It also reflects the fact that we have been able to keep our courses affordable. Many organizations charge considerably more for what they offer. We have done our best to keep tuition fees reasonable, but this has only been possible with donation support.
Donations are a key element of the institute’s success. We simply cannot function without steady public support. In 2008, donations accounted for 27% of our total revenue. Donation dollars go to four key areas: operational expenses of the institute, printing and maintenance costs of our existing titles, promoting of the institute and classes, and publishing new titles.
Many have been asking when the new reincarnation and karma book will be published. I am delighted to announce that the manuscript is finished but regret to say that we do not yet have the full funds needed to effectively produce, publish and promote the book. While 2008 was our best year yet in donations, we still fell considerably short of our needed fundraising goals. We are diligently working on a solution and will update you in our next newsletter.
The institute has some exciting events coming up in March. The Aura and Your Career follows the theme of this month’s newsletter. It will be at the Bodhi Tree in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 29 at 3pm. We are also offering this workshop in our next teleclass on Monday, March 30 at 6:30 pm PST. Our foundation course, Change Your Aura, Change Your Life begins April 15. This program teaches you how to work with spiritual energy and is the key to all the training offered through the institute.
While our next fund drive is not until the Fall, the institute needs steady donation support throughout the year. In 2008, approximately half our donations were given throughout the year and the other half during the fund drive itself. We have on our website a great feature where you can donate monthly. Simply click the recurring feature on the donation and that amount will be charged once a month for a long as you wish. The donation is made automatically and you can cancel at any time. Our 2008 Spiritual Arts Institute Retreat was a great success. Our thanks again go to Victoria Jennings, Gabriella Taylor, Joanne Flory and The Joshua Tree Retreat Center for all their help. The retreat was the highlight of the year for us and the energy and fellowship were extraordinary.

As part of the Seven Spiritual Arts Program, we are delighted to announce our new class Reincarnation and Karma will be offered in Spring and Fall 2009.

For those in the Los Angeles area, we are having an exciting fundraising event. Come to our Gold Gathering Party on November 16 any time from 1 – 4, in Redondo Beach. Organized by Dominic Dettore with The Exchange Group, this is a safe and fun way to sell unwanted gold items for top dollar and at the same time help Spiritual Arts Institute.
Our Columbus event The Aura and the Inspired Mind was a great success thanks to the remarkable efforts of John Harrison who organized the weekend. Our deepest gratitude goes to Terri Quinlin and Jim Dydo who went out of their way to attract people and made us feel so at home while we were there. Our thanks also go to Bob Peters, Cathy at Phoenix Books, Jeane Mast, Tammi Rager and Columbus Polarity Center for their efforts and support. We look forward to returning to Columbus soon!
Following our Fall theme of the aura and prosperity, our next teleconference Creating New Prosperity Patterns will be on Monday, November 17. There is no charge for the class. Donations are welcomed.

The institute has been gearing up for our June fund drive to raise money for the release of Barbara’s new book on reincarnation and karma. The manuscript will soon be finished and we will need everyone’s support to get this groundbreaking work out to the world. This is a crucial time for Spiritual Arts Institute as we are stepping up all our publishing and educational programs. Please look for our announcement coming soon. We are counting on your help! As always, our goal is to give every opportunity to benefit from the wisdom and knowledge that Spiritual Arts Institute has to offer.
The theme of this issue continues with an always fresh and inspiring workshop, The Healing Power of Your Aura, at the Bodhi Tree Bookstore in Los Angeles on June 22.
Our next cycle of online classes including the foundation course, Change Your Aura, Change Your Life begins July 9! This foundation program is the key to all the training offered at the institute. We now have a daytime class for those who cannot attend the evening timeslot. We are delighted with the wonderful family of online students who are participating in these courses.
We are looking forward to several out of town events. We will be at Infinity Foundation in the Chicago area on June 28th for an exciting workshop, Enlightening the Mind, and at the New Renaissance Bookstore in Portland, OR on July 19th for a powerful workshop on The Healing Power of Your Aura.
