Q: Do I have to give up my religion to walk the metaphysical path?

A: The answer is a resounding no. You can most definitely continue your religious practice and embrace the metaphysical path. As a matter of fact, metaphysics can deepen your understanding and appreciation of the religion you may be practicing. Metaphysics in itself is not a religion. It is a spiritual school of learning. The ancients called these training centers mystery schools, because students in these schools were learning the mysteries of life as part of their quest for spiritual enlightenment. All true religions and metaphysical schools draw their inspiration from the same spiritual well, and we are all children of the same God. So the key is regardless of the spiritual practice you may embrace, it is your dedication and sincerity to living your life in the spirit of truth that you truly grow spiritually.

Q: If I finish my life’s purpose, do I have to reincarnate again?

A: This is one of the most often asked questions regarding reincarnation and karma. First, let it be said that getting off the wheel of birth and rebirth is one of the most challenging things a soul can do. It takes many, many lives to finish our experiences here on Earth in all of their facets. No matter how much we accomplish in a single life, there is most always more to do. The truth is there’s nothing wrong with coming back to earth through the process of reincarnation. It’s a natural part of life. What we want to avoid is returning to earth to finish what could have been accomplished in this life. This happens all too often and can be a source of frustration and confusion. The question to ask is not if we are returning to earth but are we accomplishing what we came here to do.

Q: What do I do when I don’t have time to meditate?

A: In our list of most often asked questions, this question is more often put as a statement, “I don’t have time to meditate! I’m too busy.” Of course it’s up to you if you wish to take the time to meditate. Naturally, meditation will not be as effective if it is forced or sporadic. For meditation to be effective it needs to be part of your life as any other activity, and it needs to be sincere. Remember what meditation really is. It’s your time to receive. Meditating is receiving from God. Meditation is your time to withdraw from the activities of the world to draw vitality and sustenance from your spiritual source. To say you do not have time to meditate is like saying, “God, I’m sorry but I’m too busy for You today.”

Meditation is important for everyone and it’s indispensible for those on the spiritual path. Meditation does not have to be a long, drawn out affair. Certainly there will be times you will want to mediate longer or go on a retreat for contemplation and reflection, but in terms of a daily regime, meditating 10-15 minutes with the Divine Light is excellent. You will find if you make the time to meditate, your day will go much better. You will accomplish more with less effort and most important, you will be helping to spiritualize the various activities of your life, which is the key to your spiritual unfoldment.
